Settings and platform integration

General

SettingNotes
LanguageSimplified Chinese, English, Japanese; applies instantly, no restart
ThemeFollow system / Light / Dark; windows, cards and icons re-render
Default engineUsed for new batches; each batch can still override it
Concurrency1 – 3, default 1; keep it at 1 on low-end hardware
Storage directoryModels, runtimes, caches and logs; can move to another disk

Switching language refreshes cached UI strings; running tasks are unaffected.

Network

  • Proxy: follow the system proxy, or enter an HTTP / SOCKS proxy with credentials. Changes apply to new downloads immediately.
  • Catalog cache: stored in {CacheDirectory}/catalog/, rendered first and refreshed in the background.
  • Offline: once models are installed, recognition needs no network, and a failed catalog refresh never blocks installed engines.

Manual proxy credentials are stored in the OS credential store (Windows Credential Manager / macOS Keychain / Linux Secret Service), never as plaintext in configuration.

Storage

Settings → Storage shows usage per category:

  • Model packs and quantization levels
  • Shared runtime
  • Page image and crop caches
  • Logs

Caches can be cleared per category. Clearing model caches does not uninstall models, but cleared packs must be downloaded again.

Updates

  • Windows uses the MSIX installer or the in-app update prompt.
  • macOS updates in-app or by downloading a new dmg.
  • Linux updates through AppImage self-update or the package manager.
  • Update checks send only the version and app identifier — never documents or results.

Configuration location

Configuration is JSON in the app data directory:

PlatformPath
Windows%AppData%\Glyphix
macOS~/Library/Application Support/Glyphix
Linux$XDG_CONFIG_HOME/Glyphix

Editing configuration by hand can reset values to defaults. Quit the app and back up the file first.

Reset

Settings → General → Reset restores UI preferences, concurrency and proxy configuration. Installed engines and models are kept, as are task logs.
